The client sought to craft a strategy that optimized their resources and zeroed in on retail outlets with promising growth potential. They recognized that the more time their sales officers could allocate to these outlets, the higher the likelihood of growth. However, given the demanding schedules and limited time available to sales officers, the challenge lay in devising a heuristic approach to address this problem.

After delving into the client's sales operations—understanding beat composition, route planning, and Sales Officers (SOs) daily routines—we identified the need for a multi-pronged solution. We reimagined our data approach, carving out a dimension for deeper insights.

Given the dynamic nature of sales and the constant changes in the field, we initiated a proof of concept (PoC) to demonstrate how AI and knowledge graphs could effectively address the problem. Our approach prioritized not only solving the challenge but also ensuring that the technical outcomes and changes were explainable to the business.

With this approach, we are working towards implementing a highly personalized route planning strategy for SOs, allowing them to prioritize their time in areas of specific interest while minimizing travel time, thereby optimizing sales.

A transformative impact on SOs' daily visit planning, employing heuristic-driven beat compositions that ensure manageable and feasible routes. This approach aims not to overextend SOs in a single day. Moreover, we envision a tailored and strategic solution to amplify business growth within targeted districts and beats.
